This shot overexposed a bit because I was shooting in direct sunlight, but I really love the way the overexposure gives the shot a washed out, dreamy look. Yay for Polaroids!

Happy 'Roid Week!

It's 'Roid Week on Flickr again! For those who haven't heard, it's a week celebrating everyone's favorite instant gratification...Polaroids! So for the week, I'll be hauling both my Polas with me wherever I go, and shooting up a storm


The above is actually my Roid Week shot from yesterday, but I only just scanned it and uploaded.

It was shot using a Polaroid Pronto B and Artistic TZ film from Polapremium. I think I got a pack of film on its last legs, though. Nothing really seems to be coming out too well...but I guess that's part of the fun!

Okay, this one is a day behind, as well. All of the shots I took yesterday were actually with the Fuji Instax, not my Polaroid. I'll take at least one with the actual Polaroid today, as my final entry in 'Roid Week. Enjoy!

Polaroid Week, Day Three

I'm uploading this a day late because I just didn't have it in me to post yesterday afternoon, ha! But this is yesterday's shot for 'Roid Week!



Also, my wonderful husband bought me a gift yesterday! I was talking about how Polaroid film is so expensive that it's kind of not worth buying more film after my last pack is done and how some of my contacts on Flickr use the FujiFilm Instax camera instead of Polaroids. I was thinking of getting one of those, just for the fun of instant film without quite so much expense.

Well, the wonderful man went straight to his office after we had this conversation, researched the Instax, and bought me one with overnight shipping! So now I have a fun new toy! And, uh, wow...the camera looks all small and cute in the pictures, but dude...it's the size of my head! :-O

My first shot with the Instax had to be a portrait of my honey, of course!

Polaroid Week, Day Two

It's Day Two of Polaroid Week! I wanted to go over to the little playground and shoot the swings, but there were people over there and I wasn't about to go over and insist they get off the swings so I could take a Polaroid, lol! So instead, I wandered over to the lilac bushes to check on the bloom status. Getting there, slowly but surely!

Polaroid Week, Day One

It's 'Roid Week 2009, and, for once, I actually have a working Polaroid camera with which to participate! It's not the much-coveted Polaroid SX-70 camera...I have one, but it doesn't work, ha. It's just a Polaroid One Step...the big blocky black plastic camera most people think of when they hear the word "Polaroid." But it works! I intend to have some fun with this!!
